Install View: Echolocation

solo exhibition at public gallery london

PUBLIC Gallery is delighted to present Charlotte Edey’s debut solo exhibition, revealing a new series of work spanning drawing, hand-embroidery, woven tapestry and silk georgettes.

Imaginings of unseen worlds explore the intersections of identity. Employing a visual symbology that denotes myth, mysticism and femininity, the exhibition is concerned with reconciling division. Across the works, the distinctions between organic and non-organic blur, illuminating a dual dimension. Oneiric blues echo this relationship between the spiritual and chemical artificiality. A dive into the inner world and it’s a connection to the universal.
